Long condemns gun attack in East Belfast

March 23, 2012 1:40 PM

Alliance East Belfast MP Naomi Long has condemned a gun attack in East Belfast in which two cars were damaged in Brooklands Avenue. Several shots were fired from what the police believe was a shotgun.

Naomi Long MP said: "I am shocked that this gun attack happened in such a residential area.

"We do not know the motive yet but people should be allowed to live their lives free from the threat of violence.

"This must have been a frightening experience for those in the house at the time of the attack.

"If anybody has any information about this gun attack then I would urge them to contact the police. The people responsible for this attack are obviously very dangerous individuals who needs to be urgently apprehended by the police."
