March 15, 2012 2:32 PM

BELFAST SOUTH: Anna Lo MLAAlliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has called on drivers to remain vigilant to car hijacking attempts after a woman was approached by a man while she was parking her car on the Lisburn Road on Friday but he ran off when a passer-by intervened. Anna was herself a victim to an attempted car hijacking in February.

Anna Lo MLA said: "I am shocked that yet another person in Belfast has been the victim of this crime. This spate of car hijackings must stop now before somebody is seriously injured or killed.

"I would remind all drivers to remain vigilant to this crime by keeping their doors locked and windows closed.

"If anybody has any information about this or any of the other car hijacking attempts then I would urge them to contact the police."
