March 10, 2012 1:04 AM

Alliance East Belfast MLA Judith Cochrane has expressed her concern following an explosion at a house in Invernook Drive in East Belfast on Friday night. There are no reports of any injuries. It is reported that the same house was targeted in a gun attack in January.A suspicious device was also found in Tamar Street.

Judith Cochrane MLA said: "I am extremely concerned that this explosion happened in such a residential area. Somebody could have been seriously hurt or killed.

"The people responsible for this attack are nothing more than a bunch of callous and cowardly individuals. They have no regard for the wellbeing of others.

"This must have been a frightening incident for residents in the area when it happened.

"If anybody has any information about this incident then I would urge them to contact the police. I would also like to praise the efforts of the emergency services who dealt with this explosion."
