Neeson welcomes PM meeting for local green company

December 3, 2009 10:10 AM

Alliance Enterprise Spokesperson Seán Neeson MLA has hailed news that a local green shipping company has been given the chance to meet with Gordon Brown saying this news should act as a catalyst for the Stormont Executive to create a green road to economic recovery policy. B9 Shipping from Larne who develop eco-friendly ships are one of 100 companies invited to meet the Prime Minister at Downing Street tonight.

Seán Neeson MLA said: "This invite from Gordon Brown is great news for B9 Shipping and great news for our green economy.

"Alliance has long been a strong advocate for our green economy. We want to see the urgent implementation of a green new deal for Northern Ireland. This event at Downing Street, and the presence of a local company, should act as a catalyst for the Executive to get to work on creating a green road to economic recovery strategy.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate B9 on their excellent work. They are a genuine example of what innovation and sustainability has the potential to do for our economy."
