Kamble condemns attack on Tyrone GAA club

November 10, 2008 9:33 AM

Fermanagh and South Tyrone Alliance Representative Dr Kumar Kamble has condemned an attack on a County Tyrone GAA club. Police are treating the Saturday morning blaze at Edendork GAA club as suspicious and it was the second attack on a GAA club over the weekend.

Dr Kumar Kamble said: "This appears to be yet another despicable sectarian attack on an important community facility. Attacks on both GAA clubs and Orange Halls are attack on the whole community. They hurt everyone because of the instability they create and the facilities they remove from public use because of the damage.

"Northern Ireland needs to move towards a shared future of respect for all. Incidents like this appal the whole community and must not be allowed to delay progress towards creating a united community.

"I would appeal to anyone with information on either of the weekend's attacks to contact police immediately so that the thugs who carried out these acts can be brought to justice."
