The Alliance Party has selected David Griffin to stand in South Down in the forthcoming Westminster election.

David Griffin said: "It is a privilege to be standing for Alliance in South Down. While other parties try to play political power games, in a bid to make themselves look tougher than their rivals, Alliance is the only party whose aims are as relevant today as they were when the party was formed.

"We believe in ending community divisions to safeguard peace and to use precious public money to its full potential. A billion pounds is wasted every year in maintaining a divided society. People are crying out for improved health services and public transport, and the easiest way to deliver these things is to start ending segregation to free-up cash wasted on duplicating services."
