North Belfast Alliance Representative Gerry Lynch has expressed shock at the murder of a man in a stabbing near Cliftonville Road in North Belfast. The attack happened at around 2.30am on Monday morning at Brookhill Avenue.
Gerry Lynch said: "This is a very sinister development. This is the second fatal stabbing in Northern Ireland within a month. One tragic incident like this is one too many, but to have had two in the past month is very worrying.
"I want to extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the man who was killed.
"A knife culture must not be allowed to develop in Northern Ireland and there must be vigilance at all levels against this. Options like knife amnesties need to again be explored to try to address this matter. Anyone with information on this attack should contact police immediately."
