South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo has condemned a knife attack in South Belfast in which a man was stabbed in the back. The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday morning in the Orchardville Avenue area of Finaghy Road North.
Anna Lo MLA said: "I am appalled at the nature of this attack. Knife crime is a despicable scourge on our society. These dangerous weapons are so easily available and shops workers and parents need to be vigilant to ensure they do not fall into the hands of young people.
"I hope that the man injured in this incident will make a full and quick recovery.
"We have heard of so many knife attacks across the UK in recent times. The culture of some young people carrying knives needs to stop. People who carry such things invite trouble upon themselves and we need to get all dangerous weapons off our streets. This attack happened at a time when people would have been coming home from their night out, so anyone with information must contact police to help them catch the culprit."
