East Antrim Alliance MLA Sean Neeson has applied further pressure on Minister Conor Murphy to improve the A8 Larne- Belfast Road. He grilled the Regional Development Minister in the Assembly this week demanding he outline the timeframe for the completion of the project.

Sean Neeson MLA said: "I am concerned that it's going to take too long for the work to be carried out on the road. The upgrading of the A8 is long overdue and I am pressing the Minister to try and get the process speeded-up.

"In the Assembly this week I questioned Conor Murphy regarding the timescale for the the road improvements. He indicated that work will commence by 2012 and be completed by 2015.

"This upgrade is urgently needed and I will continue to campaign vigorously and keep the pressure on for a quicker completion of this project."
