McCarthy condemns petrol bombing of council owned-facilities11.24.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 7th May 2008
Ards Alliance Representative Kieran McCarthy MLA has condemned those who threw petrol bombs at changing rooms beside playing fields in Donaghadee. The facility which was attacked around 9pm last night is owned by Ards Council and is situated on Moat Street in the town. Kieran McCarthy MLA stated: "This is a despicable attack on public property. This type of thoughtless destruction does nothing but hurt the local community. "The fact that petrol bombs were used in this attack makes the incident very sinister. The whole community will be very shocked by this. "Why would anyone want to destroy community resources? I would appeal to anyone who thinks they can help police with their investigation to contact them immediately." ENDS
