Alliance Chief Whip Kieran McCarthy MLA has expressed shock and disgust at speculation that Invest NI asked the hotel hosting the US Investment Conference to keep foreign staff away from delegates. The Culloden Hotel is hosting the US Investment Conference from Wednesday until Friday.

Strangford MLA Kieran McCarthy stated: "I would be totally disgusted if this happened.

"What sort of message would this send out to the influential delegates attending the US Investment Conference?

"Northern Ireland needs to prove to the wider world that it is open for business and welcoming to everyone. Diversity should be celebrated, not suppressed.

"Northern Ireland has to sell itself to the world. Anyone that would tell the hotel to stop foreign staff from having contact with delegates needs to have a long look at themselves."
