Ford congratulates Wrightbus on £125 million contract

Alliance South Antrim MLA David Ford MLA has welcomed the £125 million contract for Wrightbus to build 1,000 buses for UK bus operator FirstGroup. The FirstGroup currently operates 9,000 buses in the UK.

David Ford said: "This is extremely good news. It is good for Wrightbus and it is good the economy in county Antrim. It is great to see a successful local family business continue to progress.

"I know from a recent visit to their Galgorm site that Wrightbus are at the forefront of developments, including significant development of hybrid vehicles for London. More recently they have been involved in the development to provide all seatbelt buses for school runs locally.

"I congratulate the Wrightbus team for their further outstanding success."
