The Alliance Party's Executive Director and North Belfast representative, Gerry Lynch, has condemned last night's attacks on homes in Twadell Avenue.

Gerry Lynch said: "This disgusting sectarian attack on defenceless families is an indictment of the culture of hatred and division that bedevils our society.

"The youths who carried out this attack could have killed someone, and should be behind bars now. Anyone who has information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible must now give it to the police before someone is killed.

"People deserve to live in peace in their own homes, regardless of their creed, colour or religion. Attacks on homes must stop, full stop."
