Neeson condemns Monkstown shooting11.45.00am GMT Thu 27th Mar 2008
East Antrim Alliance MLA Seán Neeson has described a gun attack on a man in Monkstown last night as totally despicable. The man was shot in the leg in the Tynan Close area. Sean Neeson MLA said: "This was a totally despicable attack. People who are vicious enough carry out attacks like this must be taken off our street as they pose a real danger to the whole community. "Attacks of this nature send a shudder of fear throughout the community. Those responsible must be caught quickly and must face the full rigours of the law. How can people carry out a brutal attack like this and live with themselves? "My thoughts are with the victim of this attack, and I call on anyone who has information on the incident to contact police immediately." ENDS
