Local DPP Chair saddened at Glengormley blaze

Chair of Newtownabbey District Policing Partnership, Cllr Tom Campbell, has expressed sadness at news of a fire in a taxi office on Carnmoney Road in Glengormley. The fire was reported to authorities at around 3.30am this morning, and police have yet to reveal the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

Newtownabbey Alliance Councillor Tom Campbell said: "It is extremely sad that there has been a fire in this local business. With fires of this nature, the public need to know the circumstances behind them. I await the police releasing further detail, when they have concluded they work at the site.

"I want to pass on my best wishes to the owners and staff of this taxi company who may be facing disruption due to the fire. I hope that this fire does not impact negatively on the business."
