Ford call for more sustainable energy projects following success at Antrim Area Hospital11.33.00am GMT Tue 4th Mar 2008
David Ford MLA, commenting on the information that Antrim Area Hospital has saved £186,000 through the use of a wind turbine has said that this confirms at how successfully renewable energy sources can be. The South Antrim MLA has said: "The fact that £186,000 was saved through the use of a wind turbine underlines how successful renewable energy can be. Those who have said that renewable energy does not offer any benefits can not sustain their argument. "The Northern Trust has said that they will consider further wind turbines at other hospitals in future, which is further good news. "The fact that projects such as this at Antrim Area Hospital can make a real savings to the taxpayer should hopefully lead to further projects through out Northern Ireland and not just at other hospitals."
