Alliance MLA Anna Lo is today making a speech at the launch of the International Students' Festival at Belfast Metropolitan College. Anna Lo is getting involved in the event in her role as Intercultural Ambassador, an accolade awarded to her last month in Dublin.

South Belfast MLA Anna Lo said: "I am very proud to be involved in this international students' festival.

"It is great that we are celebration the role that people who come here to live and study play in our society. Having international students living here benefits Northern Ireland greatly as it strengthens links with the wider world and enhances local awareness of other cultures.

"For Northern Ireland to reach its potential from a social and economic perspective, it must make the most of the cultural diversity which exists here. Events like this show that Northern Ireland is open for business and that we welcome everyone to live, study and work here."
