Griffin campaigns on regenerating Dromore to boost business and tourism11.55.00am GMT Fri 8th Feb 2008
Alliance Dromore by-election candidate David Griffin is spearheading the campaign to regenerate the town. He said that regenerating the historic town could open up massive opportunities in the business and tourism sphere. He also said that this election is about the best candidate for Dromore instead of a unionist dogfight. David Griffin said: "Dromore is a town of real historic significance. It has a beautiful square, a cathedral, and the remains of a castle with one of the first Norman motte and baileys Northern Ireland. I want to maximize the town's tourism and business potential. "We need to create more jobs and increase confidence in the community. I am taking a pro-active approach to improving Dromore. I have real ambition for the area and I am planning for the long-term future of the whole area. "The other candidates can focus on who has the biggest teeth in the unionist dogfight if they want, but I am concentrating on delivering the best deal on business and public services for all the people of this area. "I don't think local people want the town to be used as a battleground for the dinosaurs of politics. Dromore deserves better. "People should think about who will do most for the area. It's all about having a vision for Dromore and being committed to delivering for the whole community." ENDS
