South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo has said that the review into student tuition fees announced by Minister Reg Empey must result in the scrapping of the unfair university fees. She also said that Executive parties had let students down having not yet tackled the issue since devolution returned.

Anna Lo MLA said: "Students are under a massive debt burden and this review must result in an end to tuition fees. The Executive parties are currently letting our young people down with their failure so far to tackle the problem of student debt.

"This review is nothing new, as it has been in the pipeline for some time. Let's hope however that the hype around it results in a positive change like the scrapping of tuition fees."
