Alliance East Belfast Councillor Mervyn Jones has welcomed the news that nearly one million pounds was committed to creating a new enterprise park in Tullycarnet .

The Alliance Councillor said: "This is great news for East Belfast and for the Tullycarnet area in particular. This will not only create jobs but it will also help regenerate the area which should make the place more attractive to investors.

"If all of these 25 units are filled then there could be major benefits to local businesses with the knock on effect apparent with more money in the local economy.

"This investment is testament to the excellent of local people in the area to securing this positive development.

"One million pounds is a lot of money but I feel it will that this investment will not be wasted and hopefully we will see more investments of a similar size if not bigger in this area in the future."
