Former Mayor of Lisburn, Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn, has hit out at those who robbed an 89 year old woman in the town last night. She was robbed in her home in Wesley Street at 10pm.

Lagan Valley Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn said: "This robbery must have been very traumatic for the victim. This is a horrific incident which has sent shock waves through the whole community.

"The robbery must have been very clearly planned as a number of people were involved in it.

"One cannot even comprehend the mind of someone who would rob an 89 year-old pensioner.

"My thought are with the victim of the robbery at this distressing time. I would like to call on anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the time of the robbery to contact police."
