Parsley commends Loughview Resource Centre3.51.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 25th Sep 2007
Holywood Alliance Councillor Ian James Parsley has commended work that has gone into the establishment of a resource centre for the Redburn/Loughview area. Commenting after a meeting of the Redburn/Loughview Community Forum, Cllr Parsley stated: "I commend the exceptional work of so many members of the community that has led to such an outstanding resource centre. "The people in this area have taken responsibility for progress in this area over the past few years, vastly improving its community and educational resources. They have every right to be proud of their achievements. "Councillors from each of the three parties representing Holywood were present to see the centre, and we agreed it is as attractive and user-friendly as any in the borough. Once again, we see cooperation between three parties, and between elected representatives and the community, delivering results for Holywood." Commenting on calls to improve or replace the Redburn Community Centre, Cllr Parsley added: "I share my predecessor Susan O'Brien's determination to see Redburn Community Centre expanded. That is the best option for improvement of the facility. "In the context of the Review of Public Administration, I am under no illusions of the size of the task. I am sure the Councillors for the area will be pushing to see this driven up the agenda during the remaining years of the existing Council." ENDS
