Alliance Health Spokesperson Kieran McCarthy MLA has hailed the announcement by Health Minister Michael McGimpsey today in the Assembly chamber regarding further funding for dental care locally.

The Strangford MLA, Mr McCarthy, said: "I am very glad that the Minister has acted to improve dental services locally. This funding is long overdue with such a massive strain already being put on NHS dental care.

"I am pleased that the Executive is getting their priorities right for once. Instead of getting bogged down in discussing Language Acts and bickering over the location of the proposed multi-sports stadium, they are finally making real decisions that will improve the lives of local people."
