South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo has called for a thorough investigation into the cause of a fire in a laundry in South Belfast which led to 10 families being evacuated from their homes. The fire started in the Standard Laundry on Donegall Avenue in South Belfast at 9.30pm last night.

Anna Lo MLA stated:" I am shocked at the severity of this fire. A full investigation into its causes must be carried out because it led to much disruption, with ten families having to be evacuated from their homes late at night.

"The authorities must find out how and why this happened.

"I would like to take this opportunity to praise the good work of local firefighters in saving the adjoining property in dangerous circumstances."
