Neeson calls for electricity price cuts following planned decreases in gas bills4.38.18pm GMT Fri 9th Feb 2007
Alliance East Antrim Representative, Séan Neeson has called on Northern Ireland Electricity to cut its prices following plans revealed by Phoenix Gas to reduce their prices. Phoenix Gas hinted that it hoped to reduce its prices in April. Séan Neeson said: "Northern Ireland Electricity should be their lowering prices, now that Phoneix Gas have announced that they plans to cut their prices. "We currently pay the highest electricity prices out of any area in the UK. "There has been a decline in oil and natural gas prices in recent times so NIE should be cutting people's bills too. "People have enough to contend with at the moment financially, so NIE must act as soon as possible on this matter." ENDS
