Alliance condemn racist attacks which forced people to leave their home in Ballymena11.32.25am GMT Mon 5th Feb 2007
North Antrim Alliance Representative Jayne Dunlop has hit out at racist thugs who forced five people from the Czech Republic out of their home in Ballymena. The occupiers of the house on the junction of Hope Street and Princes Street had been subjected to two racist attacks inside a week. Jayne Dunlop said: "I was horrified to hear that people had been forced from their homes because of these disgusting attacks. "People should have learned through our past that prejudice and aggression have no place in the community. Sectarianism and racism are linked and we must defeat both in order to create a peaceful and stable society. "Respect must be shown to everyone in our society. Anyone with information on these despicable incidents should contact police to ensure that racism has no place to hide." ENDS
