North Antrim Alliance Representative Jayne Dunlop

North Antrim Alliance Representative Jayne Dunlop has expressed shock and disgust at the brutal killing of a boxer dog in Carnlough in County Antrim.

Jayne Dunlop said: "This is extremely disturbing and I hope that police can catch those responsible for this.

"I cannot fathom how anyone could commit such an act on an animal.

"Cruelty to animals can be linked to cruelty to humans and every effort must be made to catch the perpetrators.

"I would appeal to people to give any information that they have on this matter to the police immediately."
