Campbell pays tribute to former Newtownabbey Councillor Tommy McTeague

Newtownabbey Alliance Councillor Tom Campbell has paid tribute to former Newtownabbey SDLP Councillor Tommy McTeague who died last night.

Cllr Tom Campbell said: "He gave great service to the community in Newtownabbey and was a very well a respected figure.

"I was one of those who was keen to support the move to make him a Freeman of the Borough.

"He was a decorated war veteran and was a pillar of the community in the area, and will be very sadly missed.

"My thoughts are with his family and friends at this most difficult of times."
