East Belfast Alliance Assembly Member, Naomi Long, has hit out at those who carried out a racist attack in Tullycarnet in East Belfast. Late last night, a window was broken and paint was thrown into a Lithuanian woman's home in Ardcarn Drive.

The Alliance Party Deputy Leader said: "This was an absolutely despicable attack. We are trying to build a stable society which respects and protects everyone, and such attacks illustrate the urgent need to make progress in this regard.

"Racism is a massive problem in Northern Ireland, and it must be stamped out immediately.

"Anyone with any information on this incident should contact police immediately to ensure that those who carried out this attack can be brought to justice.

"People need to be protected and must be allowed to feel safe in their own home and in the community."
