Ford condemn racist hate mail sent to Anna Lo and Dr Basu10.57.36am GMT Thu 25th Jan 2007
Alliance Leader David Ford has condemned those who sent racist hate mail to Anna Lo and Dr Subhajit Basu, and those that posted racist comments about Anna on a right-wing website. The Belfast Telegraph revealed that racist hate mail had been sent to Anna and Dr Subhajit Basu after they spoke out against racism in the newspaper last Friday. David Ford said: "This hate mail and the racist comments on the right-wing website are absolutely disgusting. "This type of despicable behaviour must be eradicated, and such actions have no place whatsoever in this society. "A tiny minority of individuals have disgracefully exhibited racist behaviour and they do not at all reflect the views of the local people. "Anna has had an overwhelming positive response as an election candidate and has made a real impact in South Belfast." ENDS
