Skerries Alliance by-election candidate, Barney Fitzpatrick

Alliance Skerries by election candidate, Barney Fitzpatrick has backed the campaign to keep two fire engines to serve Portstewart. He signed the petition in Portstewart today.

Barney Fitzpatrick stated: "I strongly support the campaign to keep two fire engines in Portstewart.

"With all the new developments within the town, it is essential that there are two fire engines to deal with any call-outs.

"The fire service do a brilliant job and I am pleased to back this campaign.

"The safety of local people is the most important priority. We hear about so many tragedies related to house fires in Northern Ireland, therefore there must be good cover for all the people of Portstewart.

"I am hopeful that the campaign to keep two fire engines in the town will be successful."
