Alliance condemns Coleraine shooting

Alliance Party Chair and Coleraine Representative, Yvonne Boyle has hit out at those responsible for a gun attack on a group of young people in Coleraine. The attack took place on Somerset Drive on Friday night, no-one was injured in the incident.

Yvonne Boyle, who lives near where the attack took place, said: "This was an absolutely sickening attack.

"We are trying to create a peaceful and hate-free society and such incidents have absolutely no place in Northern Ireland.

"The intent behind this attack was very clear and I am disgusted at the disregard to human life shown by the attacker.

"This incident take place in front of a backdrop of tribal politicians haggling and delaying progress in restoring devolution. We need the Assembly up and running to ensure stability and help implement a shared future.

"I appeal to anyone with information on this incident to contact police immediately."
