Alliance Ballymena Representative, Jayne Dunlop

Ballymena Alliance representative Jayne Dunlop added her voice to those who condemned the flying of a flag referring to Michael McIlveen on top of Ahoghill's bonfire.

Jayne Dunlop said: "I was appalled to hear about this incident and find it very difficult to comprehend the mentality of whoever decided to put this reference to Michael on the bonfire. It is insensitive towards the family and insulting to the memory of the murdered teenager. Some people will find it provocative and possibly even an excuse for venting their anger. However this gesture does not reflect the views of the majority of people in this area and is best treated with the comtempt that it deserves."
