Long welcomes Integrated Status decision on Knockbreda PS6.04.36pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 7th Jul 2006
Alliance Vice Chair and Castlereagh Councillor, Michael Long, has welcomed the announcement that Knockbreda Primary School has voted to move towards taking on integrated status. Cllr Long said: "I welcome the result of the vote, as it signifies the strength of feeling among parents of children who attend Knockbreda PS, that integrated education is the way forward for the school. I am very pleased that the school has taken the first step towards taking on integrated status. "Alliance strongly supports integrated education and believes that providing a shared future for everyone in Northern Ireland will help build a stable and peaceful society and will provide better value for money on frontline services such as health and education. "This is great news for Castlereagh because most integrated schools in the area are over-subscribed, so the possibility of more places being available is a welcome announcement." ENDS
