Alliance Assembly Health Spokesperson Kieran McCarthy has said the Health Minister's proposals to end trolley waits in hospitals must be implemented fully without delay.

The Strangford MLA stated: "To allow ill people to await treatment is a hospital corridor is an assault to human dignity. This must end immediately.

"The Minister is to be congratulated on setting out a clear plan of action to end this disgrace.

"He will be judged, however, on actions not words. People who need them must have access to proper hospital beds and appropriate treatment. The Health service cannot continue to fail those who need it most."
