Antrim Councillor expresses horror at fatal crash

10.40.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 14th Apr 2006

Alliance Antrim Councillor Alan Lawther has called for junction improvements near the site of the forthcoming Templepatrick Park & Ride scheme in the light of a fatal crash yesterday [Thu 13th].

Cllr Lawther stated: "My sympathies go out to the friends and family of the victim, who have suffered such an instant and tragic loss.

"We simply cannot go on accepting the scale of the carnage on our roads.

"As this incident occurred on the Ballymartin Road near the Park & Ride site, the opportunity is there for Roads Service to adapt the junction to make is a safer one without delay."
