McCarthy glad Minister has met Alliance call on drugs for MS8.52.00am GMT Tue 7th Feb 2006 Alliance Health Spokesperson Kieran McCarthy MLA has commended Health Minister Shaun Woodward for finding the money to eliminate waiting lists for MS sufferers. The move comes after Alderman McCarthy led a delegation to meet the Minister on the subject late last year. Alderman McCarthy stated: "I called for the Minister to take this action last year, and I am delighted on behalf of MS sufferers across Northern Ireland that he has done so. "This is an example that responsible politics works. I have worked with MS groups on this issue, and taken them to meet the Minister. This welcome outcome is a result of cooperation between MS groups and politicians, and the hard work has paid off. "We must now ensure that the Minister meets his stated commitment to eliminate waiting lists for MS sufferers to get the drugs they need. We do not want any delays on this matter." ENDS
