Hain must act on UVF - Alliance8.51.55am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 20th Oct 2005 Alliance Party Leader David Ford has said the IMC report clearly indicates action must be taken against the UVF. The South Antrim MLA stated: 'It has been clear for some time now that the UVF remains engaged in inexcusable criminal activity. Instead of giving taxpayers' money to their representatives, the Secretary of State must act urgently to restore people's faith that ceasefire must mean ceasefire, and that breaches will be appropriately punished. 'However, the Alliance Party will not react merely to headlines. We will be taking time to consider the full report before advocating clear lines of action that restore faith in the process and that provide the basis for restoration of devolution.' ENDS
