Napier pays tribute to Basil Glass

Oliver Napier, former Party Leader of the Alliance Party, has expressed his feelings of loss upon learning of the death of Basil Glass.

Sir Oliver said:

"The death of Basil Glass will be a great loss, both to Northern Ireland and the Alliance Party.

"Basil was my Deputy for many years. He was part of the Alliance Party's negotiating team during the 1970s, at the Stormont Castle talks and at Sunningdale, where the principle of power sharing was firmly established.

"Basil Glass' contribution to the politics of Northern Ireland was enormous. I will miss him greatly."
