Alliance condemns barbaric murder12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 30th Jul 1999 Alliance Party spokesperson, Stephen Farry, has condemned the murder of Charles Bennet as a barbaric human-rights abuse. Stephen Farry said: "This was a truly barbaric killing. It is vital that the identity of Mr. Bennet's murderers is exposed and that they are brought to justice." "Whatever this individual is alleged to have done, there can be no justification for this execution style murder. It is vital that politicians from all sides condemn this murder for what it - a human-rights abuse of the worst kind." "If we are to build a society which is truly built upon peace and respect for human rights there can be no place for such killings. It is not sustainable for certain parties to be selective over the issues of human-rights abuses which they seek to condemn." ENDS.
