Alliance Condemns Sick Sectarian Attacks

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 15th Aug 2000

David Ford, Alliance Chief Whip, has condemned those responsible for the recent spate of sectarian attacks across Northern Ireland.

David Ford said:

"Following the Drumcree stand-off, thugs from both sections of the community appear to think that they can mount attacks which put at risk the lives of ordinary men, women and children."

"It is important that the community unites against such bigotry and violence."

"As we look forward to the Assembly resuming its business and politicians working constructively together, I fear that there will be more such attacks from those who wish to divide this society. I urge everyone to stand up against these terrorists and to help the police to catch these vermin!"
