Bunges would save lives and property: Hawkins

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 21st Jun 2005

Following the damgage caused to two houses in the Whitewell area of North Belfast, Marjorie Hawkins, Alliance Party representative for North Belfast, has called on Building Control and the Housing Executive to fit bunges to oil tanks, which will contain spillage if tanks are damaged.

Mrs Hawkins said, "Surely the cost of fitting bunges to oil tanks would be minimal, against the cost of human life or damage to property".
