La Mon service 'deeply moving reminder':

12.00.00am GMT Mon 17th Feb 2003

Castlereagh Central Alliance Councillor Michael Long described the 25th anniversary service for the La Mon bombing at St Finnian's on Sunday as "a deeply moving and fitting reminder for the people of Castlereagh".

Cllr Long said: "The service was a very deeply moving tribute to those who were killed and injured in the La Mon atrocity, and a fitting reminder for the people of Castlereagh.

"As someone who was only six years old at the time of the bombing in 1978, I feel that services like this one are important to inform the younger generation of exactly what took place during the Troubles in the hope that they will ensure that it can never happen again."
