Attack on USPCA condemned

12.00.00am GMT Tue 15th Feb 2005

ALLIANCE Spokesperson Judith Cochrane has condemned an attack on a USPCA van in Ballybeen, East Belfast, on Monday.

Ms Cochrane, who is to stand for Alliance in the May Council elections, said: "This was a disgraceful incident, and what happened was completely unnecessary. The USPCA does a difficult and often thankless job, and for its staff to come under attack like this could have resulted in much more serious injury and damage.

"Those behind this attack need to take a long, hard look at themselves, because their actions are endangering both people and animals alike."
