Alliance urges traders to be vigilant after blaze

12.00.00am GMT Tue 21st Dec 2004

ALLIANCE Councillor Lynn Frazer (Newtownabbey) has urged traders to be vigilant after a Newtownabbey business was destroyed in a fire.

Cllr Frazer said:

"While arson has not yet been confirmed as the cause, there has been a series of incendiary attacks across Northern Ireland recently. No matter who is responsible, such attacks are putting lives, jobs and businesses in jeopardy.

"Such attacks at Christmas are supposed to be a thing of the past. Politics, not violence, is the way forward, and those who are still wedded to using force have nothing to offer any of us.

"I would appeal to anyone who has any information about any recent arson attack to contact the PSNI immediately, as lives could be lost this Christmas if those behind these fires are not caught."
