McCarthy extends sympathy to family of crash victim

12.00.00am GMT Tue 7th Dec 2004

ALLIANCE Assembly member for Strangford Kieran McCarthy has extended his sympathy to the family of a teenage killed in a car crash on the Portaferry Road.

Alderman McCarthy said:

"The crash happened on a corner, although I don't recall any accidents happening there before. It is very sad, and I offer sympathy to the parents, friends and relatives of young girl.

"As MLA for area, I want to pass on my condolences. Such a heartbreaking tragedy is bad at any time of year, but much worse at Christmas, when family is so important.

"As the roads get more slippy with frost and ice, I would urge all drivers to take care on the roads at Christmas."
