Alliance welcomes launch of 'No Room For Racism' initiative12.00.00am GMT Tue 16th Nov 2004 Speaking after the launch of the 'No Room For Racism' initiative by Health Minister Angela Smith today, Alliance South Belfast representative Councillor Geraldine Rice stated: "Without overseas workers, our health services would crumble and wards in hospitals like the Mater or the City would be forced to shut, so we owe them more than just a debt of gratitude. "Some day, a patient who has committed a racist attack will be very grateful that they were not successful in driving these workers out. Until then, the Government and society must stand up to the thugs responsible for racial intimidation."
