Ford condemns Randalstown attacks

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 11th Jun 2004

SOUTH Antrim Assembly member and Alliance Party Leader David Ford has condemned the actions of those who left a number of incendiary devices under cars in Randalstown today.

Mr Ford said: "I utterly condemn these attacks in Randalstown. It seems that some people are determined to try and raise fears and tension in the town again, as has happened in the past.

"I sincerely hope this is not the loyalist response to the election of a nationalist as Antrim Mayor for the first time, because no-one has the right to put someone's life at risk in such a cowardly and evil manner.

"I would urge people in Randalstown to be vigilant at this time, and to report anything suspicious to the police."
