12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 27th May 2004

East Belfast Alliance MLA Naomi Long, has condemned a bomb attack at a house in Glenlea Park, Knocknagoney, in the early hours of this morning. Following the attack, Mrs. Long has called for an end to the loyalist feuding.

Cllr. Long, Chair of the East Belfast Sub-Group of the District Policing Partnership said, "This was yet another reckless attack which put the lives of the entire local community at risk and I utterly condemn the actions of those who planted this device. I am only relieved that no-one was seriously injured or killed inspite of the intentions of those behind the attack.

Cllr. Long , who has held a series of meetings with Police chiefs and the Security Minister in the past two days, said, " I am calling on people to co-operate with the Police and security forces to help bring this feud to an end. I would appeal to anyone with information about this attack or other recent incidents to contact the PSNI so that those behind the incident can be brought to justice and taken off our streets."
