Dan McGuinness is a practising solicitor who has lived all his life in West
Belfast. He has dedicated a great deal of his life to supporting
anti-sectarian politics, having joined the Alliance Party in 1972.
He has previously been an Alliance councillor for Upper Falls from 1977 to
1981. Since then he has been involved in public affairs at various times as a
member of the N.I. Housing Executive Board, a non-executive director of
the Eastern Health and Social Services Board, and as a member of Belfast
Education and Library Board, the Consumer Council and the Probation
Board for Northern Ireland.
